HOPE: When Today Feels Heavy

Maybe you chose hope because today feels like more than you wanted to carry.
Perhaps you are waiting for news, recovering from disappointment, questioning a decision, or trying to remain encouraged while privately wondering how much longer you can keep going.
Hope can feel difficult when life has given you evidence to be cautious.
It is easy to speak of hope when doors are opening and prayers are being answered. It takes something deeper to hope while standing in the space between after what you knew has ended, but before what you need has appeared.
Here, hope is not pretending that everything is fine. Hope is the quiet refusal to believe that this moment is the whole story.
It says:
"This hurts, but I am still here."
"I do not understand, but I remain open."
"I cannot see the entire road, but I will not mistake limited visibility for a dead end."
You have lived through moments you once thought would destroy you. You have crossed days you did not know how you would survive. You have discovered strength after believing you had nothing left.
That does not mean you should always have to be strong, itt means your life contains evidence that change is possible.
Something can be true today without being true forever.
Today may be heavy, but heaviness is not your permanent identity. This chapter may be uncertain, but uncertainty does not automatically mean something has gone wrong. Sometimes the old life has become too small before the new one has become visible.
You are not being asked to manufacture perfect faith.
Just leave a little room for possibility.
Possibility that the answer may still come.
Possibility that another door exists.
Possibility that the delay is not a denial of your worth.
Possibility that you are becoming someone this season has not yet introduced you to.
You are not helpless, you are between, and hope is the light that helps you remain present long enough to see what comes next.
Take this with you:
This moment is not my whole story. I remain open to the possibility that something beautiful is still unfolding.
